Sustainable Management
The Navigator Company manages forests covering around 120 thousand hectares and follows a policy of sustainable management.Saplings are grown at Viveiros Aliança, the Group's nurseries, where the main species produced is Eucalyptus Globulus.

Preparing the wood
The bark is stripped from the logs which are then processed into chips of a standard size.Wood chips
The next stage in the process of preparing the wood consists of cooking it, to separate the cellulose fibres from the lignin. The result is a brownish-coloured raw pulp.

Processing the Bleached Pulp
Pulp is processed by the machinery into sheets of paper over
three distinct phases:

Wet End
The wet pulp is processed into continuous sheets.Pre-Dryer
Water is extracted by pressing.+
Post-Dryer
Moisture is evaporated by using heat.+

Jumbo Reel
The paper is wound on the reeler into jumbo reels. It takes around 60 minutes to produce one jumbo roll of paper weighing 80 tons.+
Processing the Paper

The paper is sorted into stacks of 500 sheets: these are called “reams”.Ream Wrapping
